Each laboratory benefits from state-of-the-art equipment for sample preparation, including an Orbis crusher that has full stage crushing capability, in addition to full pulverisation, wet and dry screening, and soil sample preparation. All of which save time and improve sample turnaround times.

Adding to SGS's geochemistry testing capacity in Australia, these two new sample preparation facilities will further enhance SGS's geographical reach in the country. This investment is key to Australia's mining industry which is worth approximately 10% of the country's economy and 68% of its export revenues.

Orange, New South Wales

Opened in July 2022, this new laboratory is fully operational, delivering first class geochemistry testing services to clients across the country.

Mount Isa, Queensland

Opened in September our Mt. Isa laboratory is now delivering a full range of sample preparation and testing services and welcomes new inquiries.

Mark Davidson, SGS National Sales & Business Development Manager, said: "We are excited to launch two new facilities adding significantly more capacity to improve client services. Our recent investments will also strengthen our technical expertise and insights to make them more accessible to clients in Australia. Our customers will now benefit from improved service standards, including faster turnaround times, cost reductions and lower carbon emissions."

New experts joining SGS network

SGS has also recently appointed Sonia Perez, Section Manager, Base Metals and Rafael Toledo, Section Manager XRF, to boost their technical resources and further enhance its world-class geochemistry offering in Australia. Both Sonia and Rafael have many years of experience in the metal and minerals industry focusing on instrumental analysis, quality assurance and the management of ISO/IEC 17025 certified laboratories. They will help SGS deliver high quality testing and certification services for our clients.
